More Information
OLYMPUS AUTOMATION
We have a track record of delivering class-leading, niche, process and industrial automation and control solutions, within all sectors of industry.
Our aim is to continue to develop and deliver innovative and effective solutions, which bring optimum plant performance, machine capability and cost efficiencies for our customers.
COMPLIANCE
To ensure compliance with European general food and packaging legislation, we have developed End of Line solutions to provide manufacturers with accurate product packaging and correct coding. This often results in non-conformant product, which can lead to costly product withdrawal or recall. For retailers, these End of Line solutions bring peace of mind in the knowledge that the correct product arrives to shelf with the correct data, label information and packaging.
Olympus systems deliver conformance by effectively monitoring product and logging of all operator actions. By combining double sign-off and line stop security, packaging errors and material wastage are prevented.
• Competent worker scheme to ensure internal/external engineers fully certified to carry out works
• NICEIC approved for Electrical installation
• CITB + Chartered engineers covering mechanical works
• RSP provide HSE competent person and externally audit our HS systems. Internal safety audits
• Insurance Public Liability to £10 Million, Employers Liability to £10 Million and Professional Indemnity to £2 Million
• Accounts audited by Delloites
END OF LINE SOLUTIONS
Olympus Automation End of Line solutions provide food and drink manufacturers with accurate product packing information and correct coding.
The systems are very easy to use and bring you peace of mind with the knowledge that the correct product arrives to shelf with the correct date, label information and packaging. The need for emergency scheduling, stock and planning contingencies are avoided and consumer brand loyalty remains at maximum. There is a large number of Olympus Automation End of Line systems already installed throughout the world, with millions of products monitored and verified every day.
Olympus systems deliver conformance by effectively product monitoring and logging all operator action and by combining double sign-off and line stop security, ensuring packing errors and material waste are prevented. Using the knowledge gained from developing End of Line systems, we were able to work with Marks & Spencer in creating a code of practice for its suppliers.
Olympus Automation End of Line solutions monitor a wide range of line operations including: Metal detection and check weighing, traceability documentation, coding control, unauthorised production line usage, accurate packaging verification, case and tray coding.
SOFTWARE
Olympus Automation uses the latest PLC and SCADA Systems to provide state-of-the-art automated solutions. These solutions provide optimum performance through data, batch reporting, traceability, monitoring collections and integration with higher-level ERP and other business environments.
Our software engineers apply their expertise to automate and update existing systems as well as combining our full range of production equipment to provide complete production solutions. We have in-house SQL experience with the ability to provide the very latest web-based front end systems for reporting, recipe control and archiving.
ELECTRICAL
Our in-house team of highly skilled electrical engineers enables us to design and manufacture electrical control systems and installations to your specifications and our exacting in-house standards.
Projects are engineered using industry standard CAD and Amtech design applications that enable us to produce an integrated, documented design for construction. We have key alliances with leading US and European manufacturers, enabling us to provide control expertise combined with local controls knowledge. This, and the fact that all work is carried out by our highly trained engineers, ensures a trouble free installation.
We are able to provide a complete control panel manufacturing and electrical installation service and undertake work from PLC hardware upgrades to full process electrical installations.
PROCESS
Our industry experience allows us to offer a complete range of process system automation services, ranging from small modifications and enhancements of existing systems, to the implementation of large turnkey projects.
We have a great understanding of the technical and business issues that are likely to be encountered during a project’s lifecycle. Our engineers personally oversee each project from initial concept to design, implementation, deployment and support. We use state of the art 3D design systems and have a centre of excellence for solid works.
With each project, we can provide drawings and documentation to suit individual customer requirements, rapid response to match your schedules and minimum disruption to your production processes. We take responsibility for the total project from concept and design to manufacture, installation and commissioning.
COMPONENTS
Providing customers with a single source for all their new, used and reconditioned process equipment from the world’s leading manufacturers, the key reason why customers choose Olympus is the technical backup the business provides in the selection of the parts.
The sales team is supported by 20 experienced application engineers who provide help when needed; this is very relevant when components become obsolete, in the identification of parts and offering alternatives.
Olympus Automation can supply almost every item of equipment required for a process plant, from valves, pumps and pipeline fittings to mixers, vessels, heat exchangers, controls and instrumentation. This even includes used or reconditioned equipment and skid-mounted equipment can be designed, built and installed to specific customer requirements.
This approach allows us to provide customers with a one-stop facility, backed by the expertise and knowledge of the Olympus Automation team, whether the customer is an end user, contractor, OEM or facilitator.
POWDER
Olympus Automation has entered in a partnership with IBS to provide powder-handling solutions. The Olympus / IBS partnership complements the engineering prowess of Olympus with the wealth of powder experience held within IBS.
